Customer preparation reentry environmental precautions and emergency contacts

Aegis uses pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, cleaners, disinfectants, detergents, fuels, and related equipment only for services for which it is properly licensed and trained. Product labels, Safety Data Sheets, the technician's written service instructions, and applicable law control. This page provides general preparation and safety information; it does not replace product-specific directions or medical advice.

Before service

·       Tell Aegis about children, pets, birds, fish, reptiles, livestock, beehives, edible gardens, ponds, wells, sensitive plants, ventilation concerns, or other site conditions that can affect product selection or application.

·       Tell Aegis about any occupant's health or accessibility concern that may affect service planning. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis; provide only information needed to arrange service safely.

·       Follow the preparation instructions sent for the scheduled service. Remove or protect food, dishes, toys, pet bowls, bedding, and other items identified in those instructions.

·       Secure people and animals away from the treatment area. Unlock authorized areas, identify utility or irrigation hazards, and clearly mark areas Aegis should not enter or treat.

·       Tell the technician about pesticides, cleaners, fertilizers, baits, repellents, or other products recently applied by anyone else. Do not combine products or apply another product to the same area unless the labels and technician instructions allow it.

During service

People and animals must remain outside the active treatment area. If someone enters, the technician may stop work. Do not handle equipment, containers, baits, traps, granules, wet residues, or application markers. Children must be supervised. Aegis may postpone or stop work if conditions are unsafe or inconsistent with the product label.

After service and reentry

·       Follow the product-specific reentry time and all written instructions. A common direction for some spray applications is to remain out until the treated area is dry, but the actual label or Aegis instruction controls and may require a different period.

·       Keep children and animals from baits, traps, application markers, granules, and treated areas as instructed. Do not move or open a secured bait station.

·       Do not wash, irrigate, mow, sweep, pressure-wash, or disturb treated areas until the stated interval has passed. Contact Aegis before cleaning or altering a treatment area if instructions are unclear.

·       Ventilate an indoor area only as instructed. Keep food-contact items protected until the area may lawfully be reoccupied and any required cleaning is complete.

·       Contact Aegis if you observe an unexpected spill, drift, runoff, damaged station, accessible bait, unusual residue, or other safety concern.

Product information

Customers may request the product name, EPA registration number when applicable, treatment location, and available Safety Data Sheet for products used at their property. Requests may be sent to admin@aegispestdefense.com. The pesticide label is the controlling legal document for use directions, precautions, protective equipment, first aid, environmental hazards, and storage or disposal.

Environmental precautions

Aegis may modify or postpone work because of wind, rain, snow, temperature, pollinator activity, drainage, or label restrictions. Customers must identify wells, drains, irrigation intakes, ponds, streams, pools, gardens, beehives, and sensitive habitat before service. Do not direct wash water, pesticide residue, fertilizer, cleaner, oil, or other pollutants into a street, storm drain, waterway, or neighboring property.

Exposure or emergency

If a person collapses, has a seizure, has trouble breathing, or cannot be awakened, call 911 immediately. For a possible poisoning or unexpected chemical exposure in the United States, contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 or use web POISON CONTROL at poison.org. Do not wait for symptoms. Follow the product label's first-aid instructions and have the product name or service record available if possible. Do not induce vomiting unless a product label or medical professional directs you to do so. For an animal exposure, contact a veterinarian or animal poison-control service promptly.

No zero risk representation

Pesticides and other service chemicals can present hazards if misused or if directions are not followed. Registration, professional application, reduced-risk selection, or terms such as "family conscious" do not mean a product is harmless, nontoxic, or risk-free. Aegis will not describe a product as safe for children, pets, people, plants, or the environment except as supported by the product label and actual conditions of use.
